Dance for Kids: Why tiny toes ballet is perfect for Early Childhood Development

Dance plays a vital role in a child’s development, offering a fun and engaging way for children to acquire essential skills. Here at tiny toes ballet, our kids dance classes are expertly designed to not only nurture a love for ballet, but also align with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum. As the only pre-school ballet and dance programme in the UK integrated with EYFS, tiny toes ballet stands out for its focus on child development.

Tiny toes ballet was founded by a professionally trained classical ballet dancer, Emma Morgan, who is also a qualified teacher with extensive primary school experience. Our kids ballet programme is both creative and educational, providing an environment where children can thrive. Each class is designed to help children aged between 6 months - 7 years develop important skills while having fun.

Research shows that children learn best through play. In kids ballet, the physical activity, rhythm, and coordination involved are not only fun but also help enhance cognitive and motor skills. Classes at tiny toes ballet also promote problem-solving, focus, memory retention, and communication skills. These classes fuel a child’s imagination, which is a crucial component of early childhood development.

For young children, participating in dance—whether it’s toddler dance or ballet classes for 5-year-olds—encourages physical, mental, and social growth. Studies on the effects of dance in early childhood show that it improves motor skills, body awareness, and emotional expression.
