Fully Inclusive children's ballet classes
Our inclusive class allows children with disabilities to enjoy our award-winning programme.
Our inclusive class allows children with disabilities to enjoy our award-winning programme.
When tiny toes was born the aim of the programme was to bring the wonderful elements of ballet to children in a way they could engage with, learn from and have fun with. That core aim still remains today. We wanted to ensure that our offering was accessible to all children, including those children with additional needs. We have always accepted and included all children in our mainstream programme. But we wanted to create a written programme where children’s additional needs and considerations were at the centre of our class.
We have worked with an experienced inclusive dance teacher and qualified physiotherapist, to adapt our tiny toes programme for children with special educational needs we have taught dance and ballet for autism, down syndrome, global delay, cerebral palsy and much more.
We appreciate that you may want to talk in person about your child's particular needs. If so, please feel free to call us on 07407348773. We look forward to chatting with you soon!
Is this class for all children?
Yes, all children with any additional needs are welcome to our sessions. We ensure that class sizes are small and that they meet the needs of everyone. We follow guidance and training from the national dance body Paradance. All our teachers are fully trained and knowledgeable in adapting the class for children with different needs.
What age is this class suitable for?
Our mainstream classes run from 6 months to seven years old. However, our inclusive dance classes are more flexible. We welcome children up to the age of 12 years old as well as their siblings.
What training have the inclusive dance teachers undergone?
All our inclusive trained teachers have attended a specialised training course. This has been written by a fully qualified Paradance teacher and physiotherapist. They have been assessed and have regular ongoing training. They follow specially adapted plans.
Can we try it first?
We are aware that children need time to settle. We are also aware that children may not be able to commit to sessions every week due to medical appointments. Your teacher will discuss this with you before the class and ensure that we offer you a suitable solution. We are on a mission to ensure ALL children experience the joy of dance and tiny toes ballet!
